Graphite Fiber Board
The graphite fiber board is a very good thermal insulator and is used in the majority of vacuum furnace linings. To cut down particle emissions from the material we can offer it supplied foiled one side or both sides as well as coated.
Graphite Fiber board is available in standard thickness – 1”, 1.5” 2” and 2.5” at standard lengths of 42” and 52”.
Graphite Rigid Insulation Technical Data
J.C.Cole & Associates, Inc provides its customer with a graphite fiber insulating material, using lightweight carbon bonded fibers to provide low thermal conductivity and vapor pressure with excellent insulating characteristics to reduce heat loss. It can withstand furnace temperatures up to 5400°F (3000°C) and virtually eliminates voids or hotspots found with other materials. It is easy to handle, easy to install, machines freely and is able to hold fine detail.
Typical Applications
- Vacuum furnace insulation
- Inert gas furnace insulation
- Inert gas atmosphere process equipment insulation
Sizes
Board stock 1” x 24’ x 42” – 1” x 24” x 52” – 1” x 25” x 60” – 1” x 30” x 50” and all thicknesses surrounding these sizes. We do specialty cuts also, please call with requests. Additional sizes and shapes available upon request.
Multi-piece board stock and large diameter barrel stave cylinders can be fabricated by machined “shiplap” joint techniques. When bonded with graphite cement and cured the joints can be stronger than the insulation and will not lose joint integrity in normal usage.
